Energy & Water
Planning a Better Future
For decades, energy (primarily gas) and water (and wastewater) systems have been popular sources for asset securitization and PPP project finance. Now fully privatized in many jurisdictions, energy and water projects are considered prime, long-term assets.
Combined energy and water projects are popular in arid climates, where new technologies allow for highly efficient transfer of energy into national electric grids, but at the same time delivering large volumes of fresh water.
Shaping a Sustainable Future
Saudi Arabia, facing a gap in the production of both energy and water, remains one of the key markets for these projects for at least the next decade. Solar and wind are just now gaining traction as substantial contributors to the Saudi and regional power grids and will be with hydrogen major contributors to Saudi Arabia achieving Carbon Zero by 2060.
